Wrapping up 2025

Wrapping up 2025

Oof what a year. Lotta highs and some deep, deep lows.

I got five books out this year:
- Honest Dating App Profiles
- Dance Among the Lightning Bolts
- The Re-Imagined Princess
- Beyond the Burlap
- Halloween Jack and the Red Emperors

Not as many as I'd hoped, but then, life happens. Just now, I thought about all the projects I have at various stages of completion. Just for the heck of it, I'll list them off, hoping that I may knock some of them out in the coming year.

Here are the ones completed in rough draft that need a bit of cleaning up, but are otherwise ready to go: Geekland By Gaslight, Cameos II, Recycled Imagination, and The Nemo Point.

Completed rough drafts that need a severe overhaul before they are read to go: Children in Trees, The Kingdom's Wild, The Sharpened Edge of Fate (Tears of Rage 5), Letters Post Marked Pre-Post Apocalypse, Musings From an Interdimensional Way Station, and The Wanderer Project.

Books that are almost done that I don't expect to need a lot of work before they are ready to go: Legend of the Dragon Bone Flute, The Good, the Bard, and the Ugly, Drama-turgy: Making Magic With Narrative, and an as-yet-untitled book on writing focused on feedback and critiquing.

Projects in various stages of completion: Spellpunk 1, Spellpunk 2, Spellpunk 3, The Re-Imagined Dragon, The Geek's Guide to Literary Theory, Untitled Tears of Rage 6, A Rise of Lesser Gods (Tears of Rage 7), Hush, DEAD WEIGHT: Sheherazade, and A City on the Edge of Rebellion.

Wow... That's a lot. What's more... I think I'm forgetting something. Or somethings. Anyway, 2026 is going to be a busy, busy year.

Other wins for 2025:
- Featuring at a bunch of different poetry events, including my birthday.
- Meeting lots of new friends and readers at various events.
- First pub show in about 6 years at Pitch and Fiddle.
- Being asked to host a creative writing lab and poetry open mic at Parliament Wine Lounge.
- Big steps in my mental health journey. Seriously, despite some low points, this year I've made huge steps toward being mentally and spiritually healthier. For anyone else struggling out there, and the world is nuts these days, I implore you to take steps to deal with your emotional health – in a healthy way.

When I started this pose, I thought I had more to say, but I've been sick the last couple of days, and so my synapses aren't firing as brightly or swiftly as usual. I'll wrap it up now rather than struggle to come up with more things to say about the year. Overall, 2025 has been pretty awesome. Here's to 2026 being even better.

Thanks to everyone who is following along this crazy journey of being a professional writer I started 15 years ago. I couldn't do it without you.
