Wednesday (late) Weekly Round Up
This wrap up is a bit tardy. I spent much of yesterday traveling from Sacramento to West Hollywood and settling in. See, I've been invited to a swanky pre-Oscars Networking soiree. The last few weeks have been prepping for that. I've completed the third draft of the TV pilot for the project code name: Game On.
Preparing for this event has involved: the script, practicing the pitch (should it come up), getting a new suit ordering business cards (I can't remember the last time I had actual business cards), deciding on a hotel, booking a flight, and not freaking out about this awesomeness every other moment.
The first draft of these words happened late yesterday at the hotel bar with a pair of complimentary margaritas. I'm transferring the words from my journal to the my laptop in the same bar, with another complimentary margarita. I spent most of yesterday trying to maintain my chill. I wrote a bit, but mostly, I'm just soaking it in and being present for this experience. I already did some low key networking last night.
It feels like things are finally clicking together. It's nice that my mental health journey has brought me to a place where I can settle in and enjoy this rise without second guessing everything.
Other things going on:
I've started posting poetry readings for my Patreon supporters.
- Who Killed All These Darlings
- Why Must We Always Stain the Page with Blood and Tears Rather than Smiles?
- A Mercurial Evening Stroll
- An Obscure Collusion of Esoteric Vocabularies
I'll post more of these Monday - Friday
Today sees the return of The Wondering Project in audio form, also on Patreon. From now through the rest of the year, these should go live every day. For those who don't know, in 2023, I wrote a journal entry a day about my thoughts, musings, and wonderings about writing. Last year, I started doing a daily audio post of the book on Patreon. However, life happened, and it happened hard. (As it does.) That happening derailed a bunch of projects and plans. After nearly a year back in therapy, my work process is getting pretty solid. So... Sundays are for recording... unless... I'm at an event on any given weekend, and then recordings get moved to Friday (or the day before I leave for an event--Tuesday before SDCC is going to be a busy day). Regardlss, from this point on, Patrons will get a lot more of my scintillating voice. I'll also be doing short stories and podcasts.

I'll wrap this up by sharing my new motto for life and business: Show up and be awesome.
It's something that I've been doing at various levels since I was teaching dance. However, I couldn't fully commit to that philosophy because of all the crap muddled up in my brain and nervous system. I'll probably write about this for this Monday's musing. For now, I'm chilling in this bar with my two complimentary margaritas. It's been a good day, balanced between chilling and working. I've gotten good rest and great words down. Oh, and some amazing people watching.
In essence, I'm showing up and being awesome.
