Heading into 2016

I didn’t do a 2015 wrap up, because on the whole, 2015 was not a stellar year for me. Yeah, it had some high points, really nice high points, but on the whole, not so much…

Rather than look back, I’m going to focus on making 2016 a better year. This is the year I’m going to earn the title, “The hardest working guy in indie fantasy.” I’m going to bust out the writing as crazy fast as I can, with the goal that by the end of the year, I’ll match the productivity level I had in the latter half of 2011. To that end, I’m looking at maximizing the events I attend, and experimenting with different ways to build on the #GallowglasArmy community.

Here’s what I’ve got planned for my weekly schedule for people to tune into. All times are Pacific Time. I reserve the right to change this schedule on my whim. If I’m going to miss something, I’ll post it all over my social media, so to keep informed, follow me somewhere.

MONDAY:

  • Blog post: From the front lines. (Talking about what’s going on with me and the #GallowglasArmy.)
    Post Spellpunk Chapter to the website.
  • 4:00 PM – Live stream flash fiction on my Twitch channel. (Will keep going as long as inspiration, kids, and pets permit. Will write at least one. May ask for ideas from anyone in the chat room.)
  • 9:30 PM – Midnight: Live stream whatever I’m working via the Twitch channel.

TUESDAY

  • Blog post: What I’m Reading. (Pretty self-explanatory.)
  • 4:00 PM – Live stream flash fiction.
  • 9:30 PM – Midnight: Live stream.

WEDNESDAY

  • Blog Post: What I’m Watching
  • 4:00 PM – Live stream flash fiction.
  • 9:30 PM – Midnight: Live stream work.

THURSDAY

  • Blog post: Stranger than Fiction. (Where I talk about how to improve your table-top RPGs through elements of the craft of fiction.
  • 4:00 PM – Live stream flash fiction.
  • 9:30 PM – Midnight: Live stream work.

FRIDAY

  • BLOG: Rant. (Where I go off on some piece of the universe that’s ticking me off.
  • Post a Spellpunk Chapter
  • 4:00 PM – Live stream flash fiction. (Barring traveling to an event.)
  • #FlashFictionFriday – I will post my favorite flash fiction piece of the week to my website, and record me reading it and posting that to the You Tube channel.

SATURDAY

  • Short Story Saturday – Days where I don’t have an event, I’ll write a complete short story. While I will live stream this, I don’t have an exact time when I’ll be starting. It’ll happen after I get back from playing airsoft, so trying to schedule this is not an exact science. I’ll keep going until the bloody thing is done.

So, that’s my “public” working schedule. Those won’t be the only time I’m working, because I’ll need to do a lot more than that if I want to truly become, “The hardest working man in indie fantasy.” Oh, and yeah, I know that’s a ballsy claim, but at this point, I figure I better go big or go back to getting a day job.
